Not medical advice

12steps is a private companion for personal recovery work. It is not a medical device, therapy, or a substitute for professional care, a sponsor, or a meeting. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline right away.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use 12steps.

Your account and your keys

Your data is end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your password and backed up by a 12-word recovery phrase. You are responsible for keeping these safe. If you lose both your password and your recovery phrase, no one, including us, can recover your encrypted data. Keep your recovery phrase somewhere safe and offline.

Acceptable use

Use the service only for lawful, personal purposes.
Do not attempt to disrupt, attack, or reverse-engineer the service or other users' data.
Do not use the service to harm others.

Availability

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but it is provided "as is" without warranties. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 12steps is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data resulting from your loss of your password and recovery phrase.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
