Private by design

Everything you write in 12steps (journals, step work, inventories, amends, prayers) is encrypted on your device before it goes anywhere. How far that goes is your choice.

  • Your words never leave your device readable

    Private recovery content is encrypted in your browser or app before it is sent. The server stores the encrypted result, and there is no admin view or support tool that browses your entries.

  • Two account modes: Standard and Private

    Standard (the default) keeps a protected server-side key so you can reset a forgotten password by email. Private is zero-knowledge: only you hold the key, and we could not read your work even if asked.

  • Private mode: a 12-word recovery key backs you up

    In Private mode there is no email reset. If you forget your password, your recovery phrase (held only by you) restores access. You can also split it with a trusted contact.

  • No ads, profiles or session replay

    The website uses self-hosted, cookie-free analytics to count page views. It never receives your email address or private recovery content, and it is not loaded in the iOS or Android apps.
