A UK 12-step app with journal, steps and meetings

People in the UK who already use a 12-step programme often end up with a notebook, a clock app, a separate meeting list and a reading on another site. A companion app is useful when it holds the writing and the next meeting without pretending to be the fellowship. 12steps is built for that: ten fellowships, a journal, guided step work, daily tools, and a finder covering physical AA meetings across Great Britain and Ireland, NA across the UK and CA worldwide.

Match the fellowship you actually attend

AA, NA, CA, SA, SAA, SLAA, GA, OA, DA and Al-Anon do not share one vocabulary. A useful UK app should change its labels and tools when you pick a fellowship, rather than forcing every user through Alcoholics Anonymous language. 12steps does that on the account. SLAA accounts, for example, have a Bottom Lines tool; SAA accounts have Three Circles. Those are different tools, named as the fellowships name them.

The app is independent. Fellowship names are used so you can find the right prompts. Nothing here is a group, an intergroup, or a replacement for a sponsor. If your home group uses printed literature, keep using it. The app holds your notes beside that work.

Be exact about meetings

UK NA coverage is national in the current 12steps finder. CA coverage is worldwide. Physical AA listings cover Great Britain and Ireland through a monthly public third-party data dump, with London online meetings added from AA London. The AA directory is broad but not exhaustive. Check Meeting Guide or AA Great Britain when a result is missing or before travelling.

The finder is public. You can search without an account, filter by day and format, and open online meetings when they are in the feed. If you also want reminders, inventories and a journal, create a free account. The two jobs share a site, but the listings remain readable on their own.

Keep UK writing on a device you control

Step work written on a commute, in a hostel, or on a shared family iPad still needs a lock screen and a clear account-recovery choice. In 12steps, personal content is encrypted on the device before it syncs. Standard mode allows an email password reset, which is the practical option if you are likely to forget a phrase. Private mode keeps the key on your device, so we cannot read the work or reset the password.

Android is still in closed testing, so the public UK routes today are the website, the installable web app, and the iPhone listing. The same account works on those surfaces. When the Play listing is public, that will be stated on the site rather than implied in this guide.
